While the world waits at home for COVID-19 to complete its rampage, companies and franchises all over the world are showing support and solidarity to removed workers and getting creative in their way of keeping people informed.

McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, Audi and Volkswagen have decided to interpret “social distancing” with complete logo redesigns. Social distancing means standing at least 6 feet apart from others in an effort to lower the risk of contracting COVID-19. This has sparked some debate, however, on whether or not this diminishes the severity of what the world is going through. Some say that companies should be doing something more meaningful and impactful to help with the state of things. However, the creativity, passion, and thought that goes into wanting to educate and be a part of the social distancing movement is noted by many.

Meanwhile however, some brands are doing their best to make a difference in other ways.

Apparel suppliers such as Hanesbrands, Fruit of the Loom, Parkdale Mills, SanMar and several other companies have paired with the federal government and have shifted their manufacturing capabilities to quickly make millions of face masks designed for the medical field amid nationwide shortages. Other suppliers such as Los Angeles Apparel, Hanes, SnugZ USA, Starline and more, are redirecting their work force to create the face masks, helping their business and employees give back to the community and keep them employed amid the crisis.

Hanes is setting the example, using large sections of their facilities to produce masks, and said it plans to manufacture 1.5 million masks every week. Other companies are backing them up, using Hanes’ design patterns, and together will produce an estimated 5 or 6 million masks every week. They started using the hashtag #InThisTogether, building trust and showing that we can work together in this time of need to do great things.
